Born in Managua, Nicaragua, Mane Carrion stands as a harbinger of her artistic lineage. Raised in the idyllic setting of a close-knit family in Nicaragua, Mane's creative spirit was nourished by both her cultural heritage and her uncle, Guillermo Rivas Navas, a renowned artist whose influence spurred Mane's artistic journey.
Mane's transcontinental upbringing, spanning from the vibrant streets of Managua to the historically rich cities of Madrid and London, forged in her a love for art and design. At the young age of six, Mane decided she wanted to be an artist, tracing her creative roots back to memories of sitting with her uncle, sketching everyday items like boxes of Chicletts Adams.
Educated in Europe, Mane continued her journey in the USA, where she absorbed art electives and developed an interest in interior design. This formal education coupled with workshops and personal mentoring from Connetticut artist, Kelli Folsom, has greatly influenced Mane's artistic evolution. However, she regards herself as predominantly self-taught, striving each day to further refine her technique.
Unable to devote herself entirely to art due to life's circumstances, Mane secured a career in the travel industry, which gave her a broader perspective on cultures and aesthetics. However, it was only after a forced retirement due to illness and subsequent recovery, that Mane dedicated herself to interior design and art. Now residing in Georgia, Mane has found new inspiration and determination to follow her life's dream, influenced by the beauty that life has to offer.
In a testament to her creative liberty, Mane chose oil as her primary medium, granting her the freedom to truly express herself. Her art is a continuous exploration of different subjects and styles, making her work dynamic and versatile. She regards her artistic journey as an evolution, constantly developing her technique and highly influenced by the works of Monet, Cezanne and other impressionistic and expressionistic artists, paired with the ongoing mentorship from Kelli Folsom.
While Mane, now in her golden years, does not practice art full time, a significant portion of her life is dedicated to it, accompanied by rewarding hobbies like crafts, sewing, and gardening.
More than mere recognition or commercial success, Mane's artist's ambition nests in her desire to excel in her craft and gain respect in the art world. Her work mirrors her belief system and the freedom she feels with the medium, resonating with fellow artists and art enthusiasts alike. As her art career continues to flourish, Mane embraces her impact on society and the influence she has through her artistic expression. She stands as a testament that one is never too old to pursue their passion and realize their dreams, perpetually crafting her legacy with every stroke of the brush.
